Preparing for your Wedding Ceremony

What to expect:

After an initial conversation in which we talk about what you would like to achieve in our work together, we typically begin with two tools:

1. Prepare/ Enrich, which has been the #1 marriage assessment tool for over 35 years. You will each fill out a 45 minute survey, which takes a snapshot of your relationship. As a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, I will then mirror back to you the areas of strength in your relationship. We will also use Prepare/Enrich and other tools to support areas of potential growth for you as a couple.

2. Private Ketubah: I provide a set of questions about everything from communication to finances to parenting. After answering the questions separately, come back together and compare notes. Where do you agree? Where do you disagree, and the process has taught you new information about your soon-to-be spouse? And where has the process highlighted an issue that you and your partner may need to come to consensus about before your wedding day?

We add to the information from these two tools with a discussion about what you love about each other, what’s important to you individually and as a couple, and what practices and traditions might support you throughout your marriage.

We then start to craft your Ketubah- your vision of how you want to show up for each other and the life that you want to create together – and your ceremony, which will reflect that vision and your unique relationship.

I look forward to working with you!

"Our wedding and wedding weekend was the most incredible experience we've ever been through, and we really owe a lot of this to you. You were such a joy to work with, and you helped us connect with each other and ourselves in a deeper, more thoughtful way....We'll never forget that conversation in the warmth of your home, surrounded with your happy children, and with your understanding husband standing by. It was a special moment... moving and touching. Beyond that moment, we couldn't have asked for a more intimate and "us" ceremony - everything about it felt authentic and right. We could go on and on about how wonderful our wedding was and the foundational role you played in it and our relationship, but for now, please take this note as our heartfelt appreciation for everything you've done for us."

-AJ and Amber

"Your beautiful singing and joyful presence added so much to our wedding ceremony."

-Rachel and Roger

"Thank you so very much for being such an important part of our perfect day. Everything from beginning to end was more than we could have ever asked for, and you certainly helped make that happen. We really do appreciate your getting to know us, and helping to create a ceremony that was unique to us."
-Jeff and Lena

"We want to thank you for today. Your presence, calmness, and ability to transcend the moment was an uplifting experience for us. Your wisdom about tradition as well as parenting was very comforting for us. We are very happy to have connected with you- it meant a lot to us."

"Rabbi Margie is thoughtful and insightful, with a unique way of bringing text alive as a useful tool for everyday living. Through her teaching, I have learned to take better care of myself and my loved ones, using Jewish text as a resource and guide. I have also sought her out as a spiritual teacher, seeking advice on personal matters. She is a deep listener and has always helped with the most sensitive and caring of responses, and helpful recommendations.
