Bar/ Bat Mitzvah

There are many ways to celebrate your child becoming a Bar/Bat Mitzvah.  I look forward to thinking creatively with you about how to celebrate this moment most meaningfully.  Together, we will create a plan of learning and leadership that reflects your child’s unique interests, values, and learning style.  I am available for:

  • Bar/Bat Mitzvah service planning and co-leading with your son or daughter.
  • B’nei Mitzvah tutoring for chanting Torah/ Haftarah and leading Shabbat services in Berkeley, Oakland, El Cerrito and Kensington.
  • Guidance around programs and activities outside of the service including Tikkun Olam (social action) projects, nature-based programs, and other leadership activities.

“Thank you for your role in Nadov’s Bar mitzvah. We are still glowing from the event. Wonderful feedback keeps coming in and many people have told us how wonderful you were; how you set the tone.
I am especially happy that you encouraged us to put in the request for single words to describe Nadov. How incredible that was!  I want to thank you also for how you worked with both Nadov and me for the past six months. You always had confidence that all would go well and you transmitted that calm clear message. You were able to listen to and understand what we wanted and at the same time inserted your Rabbinical guidance. Thank you again for everything.”

“David’s Bar Mitzvah ceremony went beautifully and perfectly. Our whole family thanks you with all our hearts for helping David get to this point in his life with such success.”
